Alpenglow on Baldy Mountain from Plains
GFWC PLAINS WOMAN'S CLUB
Established 89 years ago, Plains Woman's Club of Plains, Montana is still doing things. We are 30 plus members strong. We have many projects and events throughout the year that keep us very busy. We welcome any and all women that wish to join our club.
Our Plains Woman’s Club (PWC) is a member of the General Federation
of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). This is an
International women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by
enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. We are also a member of the Montana
Federation of Women’s Clubs. These
larger groups help guide and educate our local club. They also provide projects that we can
participate in along with other club women.
We
are a group of women who enjoy volunteering in our community. We strive to provide the Plains area with
educational activities such as: Shakespeare in the Park, Montana Children’s
Theater, Youth Poetry and Short Story contest, Books for Babies, $1000 High
School scholarship etc. We donate to
several groups each year. These include
two cancer funds, Friends of the Library, Hospice Tree of Life and Red Ribbon
Week. We accomplish this and more with
only a small number of events to raise funds, like the sanders County Fari
Concessions, our annual Rummage Sale, and providing dinner for the National
Turkey Federation Banquet.
Come
and join a great group of women and pick a project to help with. We have FUN too-as dancing along the street
in the Plains Day parade or dressing up in vintage clothes for the membership
party!
Montana has three districts.
Eastern, Central and Western district.
Plains Woman's Club belongs to Western District.
