BIBLER GARDEN TOUR IN KALISPELL

   JULY 30, 2010

What a great day and tour!   The guides were so friendly and informative.  It was a unique opportunity with a small group to have our own private tour.  We also enjoyed the tour of the residence with the antiques and artwork.  Photos were not allowed inside but the views of the gardens from the house were spectacular.  Mr. Bibler was quite a stickler for views, flowers, animals, artwork, antiques and entertaining. He passed away in his 80's a few years ago, but the gardens are maintained in his memory.

Members and guests were treated to a potluck with many great desserts and a program about the alpacas.   While Bill talked about the business and breeding end of alpaca farming, Jackie passed around samples of the wool and clothing made from it.

The alpacas were very friendly and we all enjoyed being able to pet them.

We even had two ladies attend from the Missoula Woman's Club.

PLAINS DAY PARADE 2010
This year was a 50's theme so we played the old song 'Lollipop'
for our background music.  Gave out suckers and carried  large
poster board lollipops.  Dressed in 50's casual attire.

Chapel Challenge Fundraiser for State President Project.
At the convention each club was challenged to raise money for an addition to the Chapel at the Warm Springs Hospital.  Our idea is to sell raffle tickets for this Cool Outdoor Chest.
It is well stocked with many outdoor activity items that would appeal to men and women alike.
Over $275 worth of items for only a $10 ticket.
We would like to sell up to 150 tickets before the drawing on Sept 15, 2010.
Members are encouraged to help sell at certain events coming up.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD AT PARADISE METHODIST COMMUNITY CENTER  DEC 21
Unfortunatly, no one brought a camera so there are no photos to share.

Attendance was good and a mystery party and good finger foods and desserts made up the evening.

Members acted out parts of "Who Killed Santa Mystery" .

A corpse of Santa was laid out and it was up to the participants to figure out who did it.

Three people guessed the right murderer and were given prizes for their efforts.

There was also an exchange of gifts by way of the right /left game.

MEMBERSHIP PARTY
OCTOBER 2009

An assortment of spooktacular foods where on display at the party.  Guests were treated to Dinosaur eggs and fingers (both pictured above) in addition to bones and eyeballs.
Some of the members couldn't wait to show off their more plumper sides..  Fern and Debbie masqueraded as Scots Hilda and MacKenzie.

Our New Member of the Year Award went to a surprised Terri Henry. She was awarded a gift and next years dues paid by the club. ( the weird person next to her is club pres. Michele who believes this is not a very attractive picture of her and hopes it was the costume....
The pumpkin decorating contest was a big hit.
Members worked together and used their creative talents to come up with a winning entry.  Members voted on best pumpkin.  Decorated pumpkins were donated to the assisted living, group home and other places around town.

The Fall Convention in Livingston was jam packed as usual.
Many good ideas to bring back to your club.  Meeting friends
and making new ones.
Friday Western Banquet we were honored to hear from a local
woman who's grandfather had built a hotel in town in the early
1900's.  She told us about the history of Livingston, the train, the hotels, the brothels and the first entrance to Yellowstone.
Very fascinating.
Also, we were entertained by the amazing kids of Park County High School choir.
Saturday night after a wonderful dinner of Lasagna the guest speaker was Sarie Mackay- author of Lodestar.   She discussed her book about the Butte/Anaconda area and the Copper Kings.
She later stayed to sign any books purchased.
